Give us the tools, and we will finish the job.
A hairbrush that doubles as a dagger and a shaving brush harbouring a compass, just some of the interesting gadgets we got to handle whilst pulling together a display collection for St. Ermin’s Hotel. The Hotel has a long standing history of spies & espionage, it was there where Winston Churchill formed the SEO (Special Operations Executive), a secret British Second World War organisation known as “Churchill’s Secret Army” and during the war they used an entire floor of St. Ermin’s as their headquarters.
The hotel is now home to a display of SEO memorabilia, on loan from the London Clandestine Warfare Collection, much of which was invented by Charles Fraser-Smith for SOE agents during WWII; he’s widely credited to have been the inspiration for Ian Fleming’s character Q in the Bond books.
We’ve helped pull the collection together as a display and launch the opening of the collection.
